Vertigo and Balance Problems

The vestibular system is a sensory system that works with the inner ear and brain to control balance, movement coordination, and spatial awareness. When the vestibular system is disrupted, you may experience issues such as dizziness, nausea, and balance problems, which can increase the risk of falls. You may feel unstable while walking or changing positions, and may notice yourself being clumsier than usual. Vertigo, a condition where it feels as though the room is spinning around you, can also occur. Both vertigo and balance problems can be extremely uncomfortable and can interfere with your ability to perform everyday tasks.

How Can We Help?

Physiotherapy can be highly effective in treating vertigo and balance problems, especially if your vertigo is triggered by specific movements or positions. Our therapists are trained to assess and treat common conditions that cause balance issues or vertigo. We will ask you a series of questions to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms, then provide the appropriate treatment. Together, we will develop a tailored management plan to improve your balance and alleviate your vertigo.
