Whiplash Injuries

Whiplash injuries occur when the head is suddenly and forcefully thrown backward and forward, often due to a rear-end motor vehicle collision or contact sports. This sudden movement can result in a variety of symptoms, depending on which structures in the neck have been affected. Common whiplash symptoms include dull, aching pain or sharp neck pain with movement, stiffness, headaches, dizziness, and sensations of pins and needles or weakness radiating down the arm.

How Can We Help?

Our experienced physiotherapists will assess the structures in the neck that may have been injured or irritated during the incident and grade the severity of your whiplash injury. From there, we will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan targeting the specific structures causing your pain. We will also provide management strategies, such as stretching and mobility exercises, for you to perform at home. These approaches will help alleviate your symptoms, resolve your pain, and improve your overall function.
