ACL Rehabilitation

The ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, is an important structure that provides stability to the knee joint, particularly during cutting or change of direction. ACL injuries most commonly occur due to a rapid change or direction or landing from a jump with poor landing strategies. Rehabilitation from an ACL injury, whether you undergo a reconstruction or manage the injury conservatively, is a lengthy process that can be physically and emotionally challenging at times. This is why it is crucial to complete your rehab with an experienced physiotherapist who will be with you every step of the way.

How Can We Help?

At Pro Perform Physiotherapy, our therapists utilise the most up to date research in order to develop a rehab plan that is tailored to you and your specific sports requirements. We will take you through all the stages of your rehab, starting immediately post injury or surgery to help manage swelling and pain, and progressing to strengthening and return to running drills. We will then take you through late stage strength and sports specific agility drills to prepare you to return to sport with full confidence in your knee.
